to SIAM! Applied mathematics, in partnership with computational
science, is essential in solving many real-world problems. Our mission is to build cooperation between mathematics and the worlds of science and technology through our publications, research, and community.
New Fellows Announced
The Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics is pleased to announce the SIAM Fellows Class of 2017.This group includes 28 noteworthy professionals who have made significant contributions to the fields of applied mathematics and computational science. Read more here.
From the Journals
Authors are encouraged to send their work to SIAM’s newest journal, currently publishing to Volume 1, research papers on the development of algebraic, geometric, and topological methods with strong connection to applications. SIAGA seeks submissions. Further details are available here.
Lek-Heng Lim of University of Chicago won the James H. Wilkinson Prize in Numerical Analysis and Scientific Computing for his contributions to multilinear algebra, spectral theory for tensors, and high-dimensional data analysis. At AN17, watch him receive his award at the Prizes and Awards Luncheon on Tuesday, July 11, and hear him deliver his lecture, “Tensors in Computational Mathematics,” on Wednesday, July 12. .
