SIAM Journal on Mathematics of Data Science – New!

This SIAM journal will publish work that advances mathematical, statistical, and computational methods in the context of data and information sciences. Authors are encouraged to submit their work when the journal begins to take submissions this spring. M3 Challenge 2018

MathWorks is title sponsor of SIAM’s Popular National Math Modeling Challenge. Deadline to register teams of high school juniors and seniors is February 23, 2018. Challenge weekend is March 2-5, 2018. Final event with Champion and all winners announced is set for April 30, 2018. Official rules and guidelines available here.

SIAM Presents ... a Featured Lecture from our Archives

Andrew Sparks, United Technologies Research Center, USA, spoke at the 2017 Conference on Control and Its Applications on Mathematical Challenges in Control of Large-Scale Complex Systems. The talk presented some motivating examples of large-scale, complex systems and some interesting results on approaches to decomposition and control. This talk is available online along with more presentations from this conference and other SIAM meetings at SIAM Presents.
